Jayne's presentation

I already knew how to work Power Point. regardless I still kept to the "rules" of presentations. these are things like; not putting to much information onto a slide, having a constant colour scheme and not over-doing the transitions and animations. I also had to pluck up my conifdence to deliver the presentation this increased my verbal skills in front of a group, listening to other peers and giving effective feedback and i have increased my graphic and text manipulation a little.

I have made use of my knowledge of capital letters, the structure of sentence's, spelling and grammar, breadth of vocabulary and just general presentation skills to put together a slideshow for Jayne.

Installing Hardware & Software.

R U D Dz

I never thought that this class had anything to do with learning about the actual components of a computer. Never-the-less, I have learnt a lot about where computer parts go and their names but more importantly how they connect. I also learnt about the health and safety aspects on working on computers even when there is no power going to the system such as a Static Mat.

I could use what I have learnt in everyday life for things such as improving and fixing my computer if it ever breaks or if I want to change the operating system I know how though the BIOS. I now have a good understanding of computer components and how hardware and software works.

Creating A Website

I was expecting to learn how to create a webpage, however I thought we would be using a professional software but, we used the free web service for creating websites called Weebly. I have now learnt how to use Weebly; This include, choosing templates, creating new pages, how to insert text or image, how to change the colour, size, font of the text. From this activity I can now use Weebly to create my component website and I can also use it to create any type of website I want. I didn't know how to use Weebly now I do.

Looking at and Handling Hardware Components

I was expecting to learn what makes up a computer in little detail. instead i have learnt in a lot of detail what is inside a computer, but not just the components but how they are connected. I now have building block knowledge of the insides of a computer, i can recognize and name a few components and tell what their use is , however , I can not say that about all the components. if I ever need to get coursework in on time and my computer wont start up I can at least have a go at trying to get it working with the knowledge I have. I now have a better knowledge if computer parts .

Creating And Managing A Blog.

I was expecting to learn how to use Blogger efficiently, to help me with my studying whilst attending Palmer's College. I wanted to know how to create a blog but more importantly how to retrieve information which my teacher has posted as a message so that I am always on track and am never behind on work due in. In the process I have learnt how to create and customise my blog. I also learnt how to post things onto my blog. I will use these skills I have gained to keep track of my progress in IT and maybe other subjects. I know how to view messages which have been posted by my teacher thus keeping me on track. I had never used blogger before I joined Palmer's college and I will probably never use it once I leave.
